  • It has a scanner density of 4.8.
  • We use Digital ICE4 cleanup, individual scan autofocus and exposure to ensure each scanned image is as good as possible.
  • Will my negatives and slides be handled with care?

Whilst your pictures are with us they will be handled with extreme care using only cotten gloves and will be kept in a secure area overnight.

    What is Border Removal

    What is Border Removal

There will be a slight border around your images after they have been scanned. Most scanners will exhibit this artefact.

If you are planning to further process these images ( cropping for example ) we can leave these borders on the images.

If you would like them removed then please also select this option when you order. Note this flexibility is not available on all service levels.

Can you digitally clean up monochrome slides and negatives?

Unfortunately black and white film ans some older emulsions is opaque to the infrared digital cleanup mechanism used in our scanners and therefore we cannot provide this service for black and white negatives.

Monochrome negative and slide scans are therefore supplied without digital ICE cleanup.

My slides have mildew marks. Will digital cleanup remove these?

Digital ICE4 cleanup works extremely well for dust, hair and small scratch removal, but does struggle with mildew contamination. Mildewed media should be physically cleaned professionally prior to submission for scanning to us. Due to the risk of damaging the media, we do not clean your media with anything other than blown air if required.

How do I get my media back?

Your DVDs with the scanned images will be sent back to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery. This is free of charge.

Your media, which you sent to us for scanning can be returned by the following options at extra cost ( calculated during checkout ) :-

Courier pickup at your expense from our premises if you are concerned over losses and wish to arrange your own cover . We will package your media as it was when we received it. Celtic Intuition Limited will retain your media on site ( please ensure you have insurance cover for this ) until your courier picks up.

    How long will it take?

We will process your order as quickly as possible. Please allow a minimum of 5 working days for us to process your order. If, due to load or the condition of the mounts causing delays, the expected completion time is likely to change, we will contact you by email.

What will the files be called?

Scans will be named sequentially, 001, 002, 003 etc.

We can apply a fixed prefix per order. Please add the free prefix product to your order to let us know what you would like us to call your images.

What slide mounts can you handle?

We can handle plastic and cardboard mounts of various thicknesses. We ask that the mounts are in reasonable condition ( i.e not likely to fall apart when loaded by a projector ) and if possible sorted by mount type.

We will try to keep slide order the same as they are received by us, but cannot guarantee this.

Unfortunately we can not preserve the slide orientation as it arrives with us, as all slides need to be loaded into our scanner in landscape. We apologise for this beforehand.

This is a DVD for playing on your TV/PC of all your images via your DVD player. The start and end of the DVD will fade in and out to black and will have a 1 second fade transition between the images. Images will be on screen for 6 seconds.
